Many people all over the world are afflicted with multiple sclerosis, a chronic neurological disease for which there is no cure.  Because of this, the Race to Erase MS was founded in 1993 by Nancy Davis, who was diagnosed with the disease.  Today, the Race to Erase MS event is held annually, raising money to for the Nancy Davis Foundation For Multiple Sclerosis.  This event is typically a gala for celebrities, with very exclusive invitations.  Since its start, it has raised over thirty million dollars for research into the neurological disease.  All proceeds go to the foundation’s Center Without Walls program, which includes seven of the top multiple sclerosis research centers.  The ultimate goal of the Nancy Davis Foundation For Multiple Sclerosis is to one day find a cure for this debilitating disease.

Many entertainment and fashion organizations are backing the Race to Erase MS.  People such as Tommy Hilfiger, Cindy Crawford and Paris Hilton have made a presence at the event before, showing their support.  However, anyone can help out the cause by going to the website.  There, they have links to donate or shop at their online store. The website also links other events going on around the United States that other people may be able to attend.

Supporting The Race To Erase MS

Anyone can contribute to the Nancy Davis Foundation For Multiple Sclerosis.  On the website, there is donate now button that will take users to the donation webpage.  Here, people can either make a regular donation or a donation as tribute to a family member or a friend suffering from the disease.  These donations are completely tax deductible and easy to do right from the computer through e-check or by using a credit card.

The website also has an online store to purchase different items from.  They have a wide variety – some items are men and women’s t-shirts supporting the cause, jewelry, pet items, and even items from celebrities!  They constantly change what they are selling and celebrities are always donating new items to the cause to sell in the store, so checking back often will ensure that an exclusive item doesn’t pass you by.  Some of the items on the store are actually items available for purchase from other companies.  By purchasing from other stores through the foundation, the company agrees to donate a percent of the purchase amount to the foundation.  This can be a great, easy way to donate while buying things you need, such as cooking supplies, flowers, and more.
